One of the most important tools needed in a truly useful astrology program is a search engine that can come up with planet/aspect combinations occurring over wide time periods. You want to be able to select a time span and a set of planets and points and quickly see when chosen events occur. With Win*Star, searches are fast, accurate, and easy to accomplish. Just type in your search parameters, and set the program loose. In seconds you can receive thousands of "hits" -- showing when individual aspects occur between the "Search" and "Target" planets that you've selected. The results display in a remarkable "Search Show" table, which lets you pare them down instantly, showing the ones on which you're focusing. Pushbutton filters allow you to narrow any list to just what you want to view. For example, you can remove all the moon's aspects by clicking the small moon-symbol button -- and add them back in. Instant filters!

Print

Click the Print button to print out your search results.

Chart Any of the "hits" -- the line items resulting from the search -- can be highlighted. Then just click the Chart button to pop up an instantly calculated chart for that hit.

Search Filters The Filters pull-down menu provides the following search "filters" -- ways to reduce the items included in the search: aspeceting planets, target planets, aspects, search type, sign, house, lunation, station, "hide inner,", and "hide outer."

Merge Charts You can add searches to create a composite search list for a family or co-worker group. These searches may be kept on file.

Sort You can sort by time, places, aspects, events, or search types.

Layout A variety of search layouts are available, including Quick*Scan, house positions, multiple searches, notes, universal time, eclipses, planet columns, and "show all." Create and save your own preferences.

Increments Plus/minus by the day or month.

QuickFilters The filter buttons (the ones with the planet glyphs on them) serve as a quick, one-click way to instantly pare down the size of the search results. The most common searches are included on these "quick buttons" -- lunar htis, Sun/Moon, Marst to Mars, angles, conjunctions, oppositions, hard aspects, house ingresses, stationary points, Uranians, and asteroids.

Interpretation Window A popup window shows interpretations for transits as you scroll through the search list!
