Help you can count on...

We felt that if we could combine an interactive astrological learning environment, to go along with the high-precision chart calculations, we would have a program really helpful to a beginner new to astrology, that would also provide backup to any practiced astrologer. Therefore, we built the entire Nicholas Devore Encyclopedia of Astrology along with much of our own Astro*Index, right into the Win*Star Help file. And we added *text interpretations that work right with the chart wheel as you view it. Context-sensitive jumps will take you on an astrological learning tour while you are creating charts and wheels. Learning to use Win*Star is a breeze because of the on-line help system which provides menu descriptions and step-by-step "How Do I's" for all procedures.

Here's an example of How Do I? instructions on searching for a point:

How do I search for a specific point?

Let's say we want to know when Mercury will be at 23.5ƒ Scorpio:

  1. Select a chart from the Current Charts list.
  2. Access the Returns menu (Techniques pull-down, Returns or F5) and click the "Point" button.
  3. Select Mercury from the "Return Planet" pull-down.
  4. In the "Point for:" box, type 23 30 SC (or 233.5ƒ in 360ƒ notation).
  5. The Current Date and Time will be showing in the data fields of the menu. Click the Next button and the menu will show the next time that the selected point (23.5ƒ Scorpio, in this case) will occur. Click the Last button and the previous occurrence of this point will display.
  6. Click Ok and a dependent chart will calculate for the selected time. It will appear in the Current Charts list, indented and beneath the originally selected chart.
