Program: Win*Star and Win*Star Plus
Win*Star Tips by Tom Goyett
I have received an email from someone who wanted to know if they could
do searches in Win*Star. The answer is "Yes" but only if you
have the Plus version of Win*Star. You would simply load in the Win*Search
program and you are ready to begin your research adventure.
To begin, let's say that you would like to know all the charts in your
current chart database where the last eclipse was conjunct either the Sun,
Moon or any of the four angles of the chart. Here is what you would do.
First, bring up the search program and then choose the Sun and Moon
from the planets list and then in the Zodiac portion of the page enter in
the degree range you're looking for. Now this eclipse was at 28 Leo so
lets look for it within the range of 25 Leo to 0 Virgo. With that said you
would fill out the search form as shown below. Then click the Add button
at the top of the form. Also, you want to click the "OR" radio
button instead of the "AND" button. Because you are looking for
either planet.
This search will tell you which charts have the Sun "OR" the
Moon conjunct the eclipse point of the Sun in this last Solar Eclipse.
Next, we want to find out which of the charts has any of the four
angles conjunct the selected degrees. All you need to do is to change the
Moon and Sun to the MC and ASC and click the Add button once again.
Now for the last thing, you would have to change the Zodiac positions
with the ASC and MC showing from 25 Aquarius to 0 Pisces. This will bring
the other half of the angles into the data set. When you have entered
that, click the Add button again and also click on the "OR"
radio button. We want our search to show if any of them are found.
Notice that we can specify planets in signs and house along with
aspects. So, if you wanted to prepare for a lecture on Venus through the
houses, you could do a search for Venus through all 12 houses and find
charts that you could use for the lecture. You can set your criteria for
the search of a planet in either a sign or a house. Additionally, you
could show all the charts with the Sun in Aries and the 5th house.
So give Win*Search a look to see if you can find any charts that meet
criteria you are looking for. Remember that Matrix sells data sets of
famous people. So, give the order department a call at 1-800-PLANETS if
your interested in any of our data sets.
Happy Computing! - Tom Goyett
